Well folks, that’s it, I’m done with the Superior hiking trail! The last few days were just nice hiking, nothing significant or noteworthy really happened, I was just chugging along enjoying my forests!
So overall, I really enjoyed this trail, it’s a very pretty walk through lovely forests. However, I would never walk it during the summer again, if I was ever going to hike this again it would absolutely be at the end of September/early October to get the fall colors. 6/24/24 Today is my PCT start date! I’m leaving from Kennedy Meadows, which is ~700 trail miles from the mexican border and right before the gorgeous California sierras (I’ll go back and hike the desert section in the fall when it’s cooler). I’ve managed to successfully avoid most of the hwy 101 walking (but not entirely). For example, yesterday I took a “ferry” across Nehalem bay/river (the ferry was a small fishing…
Well, it’s been an interesting experience so far on the good ole sunshine trail. To start with, the trail isn’t actually along lake Superior, it’s *near* the lake up in the hills. Who knew? Why do none of these trails actually go along the bodies of water that you would assume they do from their…
