Day 18 – South Lake Tahoe

Made it to Tahoe!!  These last 3 days were grueling but oh so beautiful… In the Sierras I got into a pattern, hike to a major pass and then back down to a valley.  It was basically a daily occurrence and made it easy to fall into a rhythm.  Well, I don’t have that anymore, now it’s just random ups and downs and just generally heading down the trail.  Not that it’s bad, just takes a little adjusting.  Anyway, the weather is still super hot, still haven’t seen a cloud, are clouds even real or are they just myths and legends?!?  I don’t even know anymore 😱

Well, now that I’m in Tahoe I guess it’s time to decide what I want to do.  Still haven’t made a decision, I’m not loving the hiking, but I’m also not ready to be done, so we’ll see….

People ask me if the PCT is pretty, and I usually say “I guess it’s alright” 🤣
Just to show something a little different
Two days ago was trail magic day!!! These 2 guys set up shop at this road crossing and were there for like 3 days feeding hikers.  They had the good stuff!  Fresh fruit, granola bars, cereal with cold milk (CEREAL WITH MILK 😍), cookies, etc.  they were the best, I love those guys
So in Tahoe I’m staying at a campground in town.  Y’all, it’s crazy!  They let PCT hikers stay for free, hence the sea of thru-hiker tents you see here.  It’s insane.

    1. It really is, but it’s also really fun because you have a bunch of hikers just hanging out and being dirty gross hikers together, which can be amazing 😍
