Day 20 – Cascade Locks (new section!!)
I was ready to be done with the horribleness of California, but I wasn’t ready to be done with the PCT, so I compromised and decided to downgrade myself from “thru-hiker” to “section-hiker”. So I jumped up to Cascade Locks to hike Washington.
Both the Sierras and Washington are some of the absolute best hiking on the PCT, so I’m going to do my best to hit both of those sections and if that’s all that I end up doing on the PCT, well, that’s just fine and more than enough to satisfy my hiking needs for awhile.
So yesterday and today were all about getting myself from Tahoe up to Cascade Locks, it wasn’t easy, but it also wasn’t that difficult. I ended up taking a shuttle to reno, renting a car and driving up to Portland, then another bus to cascade locks and here I am, ready to start hiking again! The next stop is White Pass, roughly 6 or 7 days down the trail…
Wow, Travis, this is so good to see. You are in control of what you want to do and accomplish. Can’t wait to see new pictures.
