Day 32 – Snoqualmie Pass, WA

Made it to Snoqualmie pass, and really quickly too!  I’ve definitely gotten my thru-hiker legs back, I’ve been doing 28-30 mile days recently and still feel really good, so that’s amazing…  The trail from White Pass to Snoqualmie pass isn’t as spectacular or amazing as the first part of Washington, there are no dramatic stories of crossing something like the snow fields of Goat Rocks, it was just nice, pretty trail and lakes in this section.  I guess the trail did have a tendency to pop on up to a ridge and traverse along those for 10 miles or so at a time, so that was enjoyable (once you actually got up to the ridge, of course).

The next destination is Stevens Pass, only 70-ish miles down the trail!  I’m actually a little worried about the trail after Stevens pass, there are a few fires in the North Cascades that have closed some sections of trail, so we’ll see what happens when I get on up there…

Pretty little lake near Chinook pass
We actually had a foggy, cool day!  It was amazing, best day yet 🥰
Just typical pretty trail along this section
You’ve got clear cut, power lines, wildfires, and Rainier, what more do you want?
A decent number of miles were through old fire burn sections of trail too 🤷‍♀️
And finally, probably my favorite picture of Rainier from this trip 🥰

  1. Thank-you, Travis. I’m glad hiking is going better. The pictures are off-the-charts beautiful. It feels like you’ve found a rhythm. I hope you don’t run into problems with wildfires or air quality.

    1. Oh I’ve definitely found my rhythm, the thru-hiker legs are running at their peak! It would be a shame to waste them once I’m done with the PCT, so there’s probably more non-pct hiking to come 😉

  2. 28-30 miles a day! I know that is normal but that just seems like an insane amount! I see why you eat tubs of ice cream. Washington is a beauty….
