Day 35 – Stevens Pass, WA

Made it to Stevens Pass…  This section of the trail is absolutely gorgeous!  I really enjoyed it, of course it was a lot of constant elevation gains and drops, but once you got to the views it was oh so worth it.  And all of the snow is gone (at least trail snow), so there were really no obstacles on this section, except for the weekend hikers, they’re everywhere!  Seems like every time I turned a corner there was a group of teenagers complaining about how tired they were 🤣

Well, this was basically my last full section of the PCT, the trail north of here is closed due to fires.  The only part that’s open is the very last little bit from Hart’s pass to the Canadian border.  If it was just me I would boop out here and head off to other things, but I met a group of other north-bound section hikers at Snoqualmie pass, and they are planning on finding a way to get to Hart’s pass and doing the last bit to the border (it’s only 30 miles), so if I can find them (I got a little ahead on this section) I’ll probably join them and watch them celebrate at the border.  If I can’t find them, or they’ve decided to wait until they can do all of the north Cascades (which is worth waiting for, the section north of Stevens pass is spectacular!), then this will be it…

This is the dining room at the Alpine Club at Snoqualmie pass.  I absolutely love this place!  It’s amazing 😍
Hiking up and out of Snoqualmie pass
I mean, just look at that!
Washington is just amazing, it’s so beautiful 😍
Lies.  It’s all lies.
Deception lake.
Beautiful water source along the way.  Washington is weird, in some places you have good streams like this everywhere, and then in other sections you’re going 12 miles between sources 🤷‍♀️
Finally, the token campsite pic
