Oregon Coast Trail – Neskowin

So far everything has been incredible, this trail does not disappoint! It’s been a nice combination of beach walking and lovely hikes through dense forests.  I’ve managed to successfully avoid most of the hwy 101 walking (but not entirely).  For example, yesterday I took a “ferry” across Nehalem bay/river (the ferry was a small fishing boat that could probably hold 3 people), then a fun tourist train to garibaldi, and then the bus to Tillamook, all to avoid road walking in the 101 around the Tillamook bay.  A boat, train, and bus all in 1 day, it was amazing 😍

Anyway, the weather has been beautiful, I’m loving the hiking, and as expected I’m hitting at least 1 town a day so I can get my recommended amount of ice cream every day 🙃

Haystack rock (near Cannon Beach), the tide pools here at low tide are incredible!
More pretty forests!

Never seen a trail routed through a tree before!
This was my ferry service across the Nehalem Bay!
We have to ford the sand river (or I guess there’s a 6-mile road walk around it) and on the way I ran into this guy doing some crab fishing, so I stopped and chatted to him for a few minutes about it (he had an entire bucket of them!). Couldn’t stay long though, had to cross before the high tide came in.  I gotta say, it’s quite a change to have to hike around the tides, but so far it hasn’t been a problem
